Denny · Sprinter 170
Full custom
Denny is a full custom Sprinter 170 camper van conversion built by 2Pines Upfitters in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. It runs a 600Ah heated lithium battery bank with a Victron 3000W pure sine inverter and Cerbo monitoring, and it charges three ways: 30A shore power, 3600W of secondary alternator charging, and a solar prep package. A 4-season insulation package, a Bison 2000 air heater, 12V Nomadic air conditioning, and a heat-protected water system with an Isotemp hot water heater keep it usable year round. Inside there is a full-length electric elevator bed, two seating zones, and a butcher block galley with an induction cooktop and an Isotherm 85 fridge and freezer.
The Story
The electrical package is the backbone of this van. A 600Ah heated lithium battery bank feeds a Victron 3000W pure sine inverter, with a Victron Cerbo display so you can see what every system is doing from one screen. Charging comes from three directions: a 30A shore power input for campgrounds, 3600W of secondary alternator charging that refills the bank while you drive, and a solar prep package ready for panels on the roof. Between the 15A and 20A wall circuits, the 12V USB ports, and zoned LED lighting with dimmable under-cabinet and toe-kick runs, you can plug in normal household devices and not think twice about it.
Water and heat got the same level of attention, because a van you can only use eight months of the year is a storage problem, not a camper. The water system is heat protected for all four seasons, with a 35 gallon fresh tank, a removable 19 gallon grey tank, and an Isotemp hot water heater for real showers on the road. Digital level sensors tell you what is left, a charcoal filter keeps the fresh water clean, and three diverter valves handle city water, hot water bypass, and winterization without crawling under cabinets. For climate, a Bison 2000 air heater, 12V Nomadic air conditioning, and a Maxxfan Deluxe 7500 cover everything from a January cold snap to an August afternoon, all backed by 4-season insulation and a noise dampening package in the walls.
Inside, the galley runs custom butcher block counters over laminated 3/4 inch Baltic birch cabinets, with an induction cooktop, an Isotherm 85 fridge and freezer, and a stowable gun-metal sink. A full-length electric elevator bed with a 6 inch organic mattress lifts out of the way when you need the floor, and two seating zones, a dinette plus a bench with a rotating table, mean one person can work while the other eats. Outside, a Van Compass suspension upgrade and Black Method wheels take the rough roads, a low-profile Flatline Van Co roof rack with a wind fairing carries the gear, and a rear tire carrier with a ladder keeps the spare out from underneath and the roof within reach. Starlink keeps the internet coming wherever the van ends up parked.
